About this Event

Jazz music stirs and soothes the soul. Wrap up the week by seeing world class musicians with a monthly jazz series, on Thursday, November 17th and Friday, November 18th. This performance will showcase the Stacy Dillard Quartet.

The third of a monthly series, the Gantt is thrilled to host Jazz @ the Gantt, produced by Ocie Davis. This series will present modern jazz musicians from New York City, where the history of the music runs deep. Season 1, entitled To Be Young Gifted and Black, will feature current and rising Black American musicians who are the torch bearers of this great American art form.

Entertaining and insightful, this series will showcase invaluable contributions Black people continue to make to the cultural fabric of America and worldwide.

Shake off the stress of the week and come to the Gantt to unwind and enjoy live music in an exclusive and elegant setting.

About Stacy Dillard

As a resident of Brooklyn, NY, Dillard has played with drummer Winard Harper, Cindy Blackmon, Lenny White, Norman Simmons, Frank Lacy, Wycliffe Gordon, Eric Reed, Roy Hargrove, and the Mingus Big Band and a host of other jazz artists. Dillard has also worked in different genres of music with artists like Shirley Ceasar, Stephanie Mills, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth, and more.

Originally from Muskegon Heights, Michigan, Dillard performs and hosts a popular weekly gig and jam session at the famous Smalls Jazz Club in Greenwich Village. Because of his command of the saxophone, accessibility, and gracious spirit, he has become one of the most beloved, respected, and popular musicians in NY and of his generation.

His Saturday night performances/jam sessions have become legendary, as musicians from famous to up-and-coming hang out to be a part of that scene.
