The Boston Jazz Foundation is thrilled to announce the inaugural celebration of Jazz Square, a free, community-driven, and family-friendly event taking place on September 27th and 28th, 2024. This exciting two-day event will honor Boston's rich jazz history and celebrate the vibrant cultural legacy of the neighborhood around the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Columbus Avenue.Jazz Square, now officially recognized as a historical hub for jazz in Boston, was once home to iconic clubs such as the Savoy Cafe, Hi-Hat Club, Eddie’s Cafe, and Wally’s Cafe Jazz Club, the latter being the only one still operating today. This celebration aims to revitalize this historic area, which played a pivotal role in shaping Boston's jazz scene, with a dynamic lineup of community events, walking tours, live music, and visual art installations. Admission is FREE and first come first served for all Events!
