7:30PM – John Dalton's Spheres of Influence
John Dalton is a Boston Area based drummer, composer, improviser, and bandleader. He has performed in a variety of settings. He has been involved in groups that have featured at the New Bedford Jazz Festival, the Medford Jazz Festival, and the New Bedford Roots and Branches Festival. he has performed at venues such as Fete Music hall, Dowtown music Gallery, the Zeiterion Theater, Boston University, Wally’s Cafe Jazz Club, iBeam, and Cafe 939 at Berklee College of Music. He has performed or shared the bill with artists such as Tony Malaby, Jim Robitaille, Phillip Greenlief, Dino Govoni, Amanda Monaco, John Sullivan, Barry Altschul, Dennis Montgomery, Jerome Harris, Stefano Battaglia, Kaya Meller, Kamil Piotrowicz, Anastassiya Petrova, and royal hartigan.. John has also received grants from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Medford Arts Council, and the Somerville Arts Council for work with his modular ensemble Spheres of Influence, which performs original compositions, standards, as well as arrangements of well known repertoire.

Sequoyah Cisneros is a Boston-based saxophonist, improviser, and composer. Sequoyah was raised in Palisade, Colorado, and, since moving to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music, has performed with John Patittucci, Brian Blade, Danilo Perez, Francisco Mela, Ingrid Jensen, Gilberto Santa Rosa, and Ledisi, among others. Additionally, he has had the privilege of studying with Tony Malaby, Billy Kilson, George Garzone, Matthew Stevens, and Godwin Louis. Since graduating from Berklee in 2025, Sequoyah has performed frequently as a sideman as well as with his band, Smokejumper, with whom he presents original compositions and improvisations.

Sam Childs is a tenor and soprano saxophonist, specializing in Jazz and improvised music. Sam plays often in the Boston jazz scene, at venues such as, the Lilypad, the Monkfish, and as well as larger venues such as Symphony Hall, Wang Theatre, and Chevallier Theatre. Sam got his education at New England Conservatory, and has studied with Billy Hart, Cecil McBee, Dave Holland, Jerry Bergonzi, Nasheet Waits, Anthony Coleman, and Frank Carlberg. Sam has played with Tony Malaby, Francisco Mela, Charles Downs, Joe Morris, Alex Minasian, as well as the Temptations, and the Four Tops. Sam’s projects focus primarily on group improvisations, as heard on his most recent album Sam Childs and Evan Palmer (2026), and a live quartet recording Breathe (2025).

Born 1971 and raised in Seattle, bassist Nate McBride has spent most of his musical life in Boston and Chicago. A bandleader, sideman, writer and improviser, McBride has performed widely on upright and electric bass with groups and musicians across a wide range of scenes: the East Coast scene, the Chi scene, the Euro Impro scene, and the local scenes wherever he’s lived. Moving comfortably between improvised and written music, jazz and noise rock, McBride has found durable, decades-spanning connections with musicians like Pandelis Karayorgis, Joe Morris, Curt Newton, Ken Vandermark, Jeff Parker, Jeb Bishop, Dave Rempis, Jason Adasiewicz, Mike Reed, and many others.

The Fully Celebrated Orchestra has been a force on the Boston music scene since saxophonist/composer Jim Hobbs and bassist Timo Shanko started playing free jazz at punk rock clubs and street corners in the late 1980s. Still going strong as underground legends over three decades later, FCO also features cornetist Taylor Ho Bynum, drummer Luther Gray, and guitarist Ian Ayers.
Jim Hobbs was born and raised in north-eastern Indiana at the convergence of three rivers. He is a recipient of the Doris Duke New Works Grant for composition from Chamber Music America. After a childhood of chewing hay and catching salamanders he began playing the saxophone. He received a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music where he majored in composition. It was there that he met bassist Timo Shanko and started the Fully Celebrated Orchestra (FCO), which has released 10+ recordings on various labels including Silkheart, Skycap and Innova. FCO is also the subject of a children's book.
He has performed and recorded with Joe Morris, Luther Gray, Taylor Ho Bynum, Bill Lowe, The Jazz Composers Alliance, Forbes Graham, The Prodigal Suns, Mackie Burnett, Fred Hopkins, Laurence Cook, Jon Voight, Junko Simons, Nightstick, The Death's Head Quartet, Josh Roseman, Curtis Hasselbring, The Lunch Factor, Laura Andel, Brother Blue and many others.
