For more information about The James Moore Quartet, please read below:James Moore is a Grammy-nominated jazz trumpeter, bandleader, and educator whose work bridges tradition and modern expression. Based in Pittsburgh, Moore is an active performer with the Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra and a regular collaborator with legendary drummer Roger Humphries, pianist Bob Thompson, and many other notable artists in the jazz world.
Moore has appeared on Grammy-nominated recordings with internationally respected jazz musicians, earning recognition for his warm tone, lyrical phrasing, and inventive improvisation. His playing reflects deep roots in the jazz tradition while embracing contemporary harmonic and rhythmic language.
Moore leads a quartet of some of Pittsburgh’s most seasoned players, with Tom Wendt on drums, Leon Boykins on acoustic bass, and Jonathan DiGiulian on guitar.
