The Bob Washington Jazz Scholarship is named in honor of the founder and long-time President of the Villages Jazz Lovers Club, also well known by The Villages theater lovers as a founder and frequent writer, producer, director and actor of and for the Villages Theater Group. This Scholarship is not only a tribute to the man but also serves as a “gateway to the future” for young aspiring student musicians, and we “jazz lovers” proudly support and promote this worthwhile project.
The Scholarship program is funded by club activities of both the Jazz Lovers and the Jazz - More Jazz Clubs, among others, and the generous financial support our members and lovers of music in general, Jazz in particular … who wish to participate in promoting the art.
The room will be set up “Theater Style” i.e. NO Tables & chairs. Doors open at 5pm
There is no charge to witness the competition, however all donations are appreciated and help perpetuation this worthy cause. This event is open to the public.
