A Sultry evening of dimly red-lit jazz at Mulberry featuring 8 of the finest gigging vocalists around! Jazz standards in authentic language (Spanish, Portuguese & English) & of diverse origins (Latin, Brazilian, Irish, British, & American traditionals) showcased by the following seasoned vocalists:
-Julia: newest cantora in town; vocalist from Brazil with a voice like velvet, she sings authentically in Portuguese & leaves you wanting more every time! She was debuted recently featured in the “Amy” tribute show & studies the academic sides of music/theory in school full time. The innate ability & disciplined knowledge of her craft are obvious when you hear her first note, & the subtlety of intention in all of those following
-Odalys: previously fronting Chico-Latin-Orchestra! Odalys also made a cabaret debut in hypnotique’s most recent holiday production. She’s is known to grace the Kelly Twin’s shows by popular demand & pop out on the scene only when genuine passion insists. She fronts life & band with soulful, whimsy, spirit & leads songs with contagious energy & spice; her voice simply cannot be denied!
-Lorna Such: Band Leader, writer & recording vocalist for ‘Lorna Such’ & ‘Lo&Behold’. Lorna is a beloved pillar of an artist within this community & beyond. Studied academically in music through CSU & years of performing in highly sought after bands, she has mastered the brains & the streets of the craft & still sings earnestly to the story she lives with a voice that just melts your guard down. Original music out on all platforms.
-Emma Garrahy: Vocalist of chico’s freshest & most active professional entertainers, ‘Emma & Will’ & newest front singer to a busy & beloved corporate band; tba. She sings like pure joy & is clinically educated in the linguistics of singing as a registered Speech&language Pathologist! she has been Chico’s songbird for a handful of years, catch her in this intimate show to hear the full spectrum of her voice before she flys away
-Samantha: Seasoned vocalist & coach! She performs in frequently-gigging, ‘The sun followers’ & has been singing professionally for 13+ years, signed in full bands & accompanying numerous other established bands. She’s carved music to be her lifeline, as a duo & solo she sings to the fullest every time. She & her duo are recorded with music out on all platforms! Her skill, discipline, tone & vocal acrobatics speak for themselves in every note sung
-Ben: Well-versed vocalist & musician of 13+ yrs, the other half to ‘The Sun Followers’ - He has signed with professionally gigging bands as well as leading in fresher bands now, ‘In the Paint’ & high energy, ‘sky’s out thighs out’. His charm, heart n’ wit, light up every room inviting a serenity of down-to-earth connection, which is why he will be your guide in-between songbirds
-Aman Cowell: Mastered in Jazz studies, Aman-“no chart”-Cowell sings with warmth & authenticity & has trumpeted with the greats, along with all of Chico’s finest acts. Aman creates & releases his writings on all platforms, is an up & coming jazz professor at csu & performs on the reg!
-Samaria: A long-time recording & performing vocalist throughout the Midwest & Cali, gigging vivaciously for 13 yrs; signed into bands & duos in passing, however, now known in Chico for her duo performances w/ Baynz, full-band shows within ‘Samaria & Co.’ as well as her creative EPs released on all platforms, made with local masterminds/friends<3 She’s studied in the clinical sides of voice while having worked in the ENT & currently studying bio-chem for more scientific approach.
Booked & busy & filled to the brim with a deep love for other singers.
Formal attire encouraged to adhere to historical accuracy & to create the perfect date-night, dolled-up ladies night, or just a place for all to be mysteriously slick!
Band: Ryan on the grand piano, Baynz on upright bass, Chris on the bop-kit. Will intermittently on guitar & Aman intermittently on trumpet.
