Jazz in the Classroom All-Star Concert, ft. Bob Mintzer & Hancock Institute

The concert will feature Los Angeles Unified School District students who participate in the Hancock Institute's Jazz in the Classroom program, where they study with Hancock Institute Teaching Artists throughout the year. The event will be held on Sunday, June 7, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the Los Angeles College of Music in Pasadena. Jazz in the Classroom is part of a partnership between the Institute and LAUSD that began in 2003 and has served hundreds of thousands of LAUSD students at dozens of schools throughout the District. The Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz Performance at UCLA Ensemble will also be featured in this concert.

Additionally, the Herbie Hancock Institute/LAUSD Beyond the Bell All-City Big Band, comprised of some of the District's most talented musicians, features a special guest artist. This year, we are honored to welcome world-renowned saxophonist and composer Bob Mintzer.
