George Crotty has forged his own exciting vocabulary pushing the boundaries of the cello. Versed in many styles, his inquisitive eclecticism draws on diverse influences within jazz and global music including post-bop, modal jazz, Indian Raga, and Arabic Maqam. Crotty’s modernist genre-bending is heavily influenced by his hometown of Toronto’s vibrant pluralism. His compositions are further illuminated by John Murchison (bass) and Jeremy Smith (percussion).
