SYNOPSISJoin us for a special evening with Jazz East Big Band, featuring an all-star lineup of iconic local songwriters; Amelia Curran, Sean Panting, Nico Paulo, Evan Watts Smith, Jodee Richardson, Valmy, Natasha Blackwood, Ana Luisa Ramos, and Eastern Owl. This concert will present new, reimagined orchestrations of their original songs by many of our province's finest music arrangers, including five world premieres.
Directed by national treasure Bill Brennan, this programme will also highlight our special guest vocalists on Big Band classics you know and love, central to The Great American Songbook, with tunes by Cole Porter, Luiz Bonfa, Tom Jobim and more.
After their 2023 “Sinatra at the Sands” concert had a sold-out audience on their feet and asking for more, Jazz East returns to the big stage with new original music, and the classics that you love. One night only, not to be missed!

Jazz East Big Band is a dynamic 19-piece Jazz Orchestra that has been at the forefront of jazz artistic practice in Newfoundland and Labrador for over 25 years. Led by the award-winning Bill Brennan, the ensemble features a treasure-trove of the country's finest musicians; players and composers such as Jim Vivian, Gary Johnston, Humberto Piccoli, Natasha Blackwood, Terry Campbell, and many more. Jazz East is dedicated to high-calibre music-making with visionary programming, exciting performances, and fostering creation and presentation of new music by local composers and arrangers.
