The Lander University Jazz Ensemble is a 23-piece big band that performs standard repertoire, including compositions originally performed by Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, Glen Miller, Count Basie, Bob Mintzer and many others. The ensemble is led by Dr. Robert A. Gardiner. Gardiner holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of South Carolina, a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from DePaul University, and Doctor of Musical Arts in Saxophone Performance at the University of South Carolina. This event is free and open to the community.
