Puddingstone Music is thrilled to announce the next installment in its salon series and a thrilling step towards incorporating more jazz music into its regular programming.“Jazz at The Redwood” is a series produced in collaboration with Newport’s own Redwood Library and Athenaeum.
The first concert in this series will feature Paul Cornish on May 27th for his first time in Newport as a bandleader.
Previously known for his work with legendary players such as Mark Guiliana, Louis Cole, and Joshua Redman, the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz (UCLA) graduate released his debut album on Blue Note Records entitled "You’re Exaggerating." The album received praise from critics and audiences alike with sold-out shows at iconic venues like Dizzy’s in New York City.
Together with drummer Jonathon Pinson and bassist Jermaine Paul, Cornish will perform compositions both new and old. The evening will offer audiences a glimpse into the future of both the iconic Blue Note Records label as well as the jazz genre as a whole.
