A cornerstone of Lena’s jazz programming, Lamb brings fresh energy, deep musicality, and an open-hearted spirit to every performance.This April, the Chuck Lamb Trio welcomes acclaimed saxophonist and composer Eric Person, celebrating the release of his thirteenth album, Extra Pressure.
Eric Person’s career spans the bold and the boundary-crossing. As both a leader and sought-after sideman, he has performed and recorded with jazz luminaries including McCoy Tyner, Dave Holland, Houston Person, and Wallace Roney, while also collaborating beyond the jazz world with artists such as Bootsy Collins, Ben Harper, Vernon Reid, and Living Colour.
His sound on alto and soprano saxophone is unmistakable—John Chacona of Signal to Noise praised his “sheer beauty of sound that’s often breathtaking,” while Bill Milkowski called him “a risk-taking improviser, accomplished composer, and inveterate swinger.”
Chuck Lamb, pianist with the renowned Brubeck Brothers Quartet since 2002, is celebrated for his passionate, expressive style and dynamic range. A prolific composer whose work spans jazz, fusion, classical, and world music, Lamb moves effortlessly from lyrical elegance to explosive improvisation.
