Jared Sims is a versatile multi-instrumentalist, performing on all saxophones, clarinet, and flute. His impressive career has taken him on tours across the US, Europe, South America, and Asia. Sims has collaborated with an extraordinary range of artists, from jazz legends like Rufus Reid, Dave Liebman, Matt Wilson, and Cecil McBee to diverse acts like Oteil Burbridge, G Love, Soulive, The Temptations, The Four Tops, and 10,000 Maniacs. He has headlined performances in cities such as Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, New York, Boston, Washington, Seattle, and Pittsburgh.
Sims' latest recordings include Hellbender, an experimental rock/jazz fusion project; Sky View, a jazz/funk album; and Against All Odds, a pure jazz experience. Praised by Music Republic Magazine as “one of the most exciting saxophonists and bandleaders heard in a long time,” Sims is also a dedicated jazz educator. He currently serves as the Artistic Director for the Newport Jazz Summer Camp and Jazz Director at Milton Academy, with past teaching positions at five universities.
