About this Event
Welcome to our Japanese Zen Calligraphy Single Session event!
Join us for a relaxing and meditative experience at the Bujinkan Namiryu Dojo. Immerse yourself in the art of Japanese calligraphy and learn the techniques of brush strokes and mindfulness.
Each session will be complimented with a small tea ceremony and a brief discussion on the day's topic, giving you plenty of time to practice. This in-person event is the perfect opportunity to explore your creativity and inner peace.
No experience is necessary, just come with an open mind and a willingness to learn.
When:
Our sessions are normally held every Saturday from 14.00 to 15.00. Occasionally, some classes will be held on Sundays at the same time, depending on the Dojo's schedule. For more information, please see our upcoming events.
Where:
You will have the chance to practice in the only full traditional Japanese Dojo in Dublin, equipped with original artworks and atmosphere, relaxing music, and artifacts.
What To Expect:
Each session will be one hour long, where we will kick off with a small tea ceremony - each appointment will have a thematic high quality loose leaf tea, to enhance our senses - and a refreshing discussion on the day's topic/concept.
After a small meditation to recenter ourselves, we will dig into the day's work to be produced and I will explain how to paint it correctly, leaving plenty of time for practice.
In the last 10 minutes of the session, we will all paint and seal the artwork with meditative and energetic flow, which you can bring home with you.
Finally, I will share some actionable points relevant to the day's concepts that can be applied on our day-to-day life for you to practice.
