We're adding a Haunted twist to our Japanese Painting Workshop. Paint the ghost of Japanese Folklore & other Monsters from around the worldOur Japanese Painting Workshop with a spooky twist. We're going Halloween style. Whether you want to paint the three vengeful spirits of Japan or something more contemporary such as Scream or Slimer from Ghost Busters, we've got you! We'll bring plenty of haunted references for you to choose from.
Learn from an experienced local artist, who'll teach you how to paint using traditional materials like bamboo brushes, sumi ink, Gansai Tambi 顔彩耽美 (Traditional Japanese colours), gold leaves on rice paper boards and Fans. The workshop will begin with a demonstration on how to draw and paint using these materials afterwhich you'll get stuck into the creative process.
We will bring along a selection of Halloween references of ghosts and haunts from all over the world and you'll be able to paint them using traditional and contemporary painting techniques.
This painting class is suitable for beginners as well as those with a little more artistic experience, so don't worry if it's your first time. Your teacher will be on hand to provide guidance and answer any questions.
At the end of your art class, you'll get the chance to stand back and admire your beautiful Japanese painting or you can share your experiences with the group. You'll head home with your completed piece and a new skill that's perfect to practice whenever you're looking to clear your head.
This workshop is located at GRUB Manchester's biggest events space where you can treat yourself to their lucious food before, during or after the workshop!
