By 1910, Sacramento had become the 4th most Japanese-populated city in California and had a thriving Japantown. That all ended with World War II. Hear the stories of Japanese-American immigrants' battle to overcome discrimination. We'll introduce you to soldiers from the 100th Battalion and the 442nd Infantry Regiment, who fought to liberate Europe as their own families were being held in internment camps.Notes: - These are walking tours. Please wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Tours are not typically canceled due to weather.- Parking is available on the street or at the Riverside Target. We recommend avoiding parking in the Selland's lot across the street from the cemetery to reduce the risk of being towed.
