Got Japanese barberry (Berberis thungbergii)? Get coupons!ISN is once again giving landowners the opportunity to trade-in their invasive Japanese barberry shrubs for a coupon good for a non-invasive alternative or service.
Here's how it works:
1. Decide how many Japanese barberry shrubs you want to dig up and are able to bring to us on those event dates! We accept barberry for free disposal regardless of how many coupons you qualify for.
2. REGISTER for a trade-up event online at: www.HabitatMatters.org
3. Dig up your barberry entirely and bring the whole plant to the ISN offices on Saturday, June 6th from 10am-Noon and get coupons in exchange.
Use your coupons at any one of the participating businesses (listed online and on the coupons themselves) before the end of August!
Not near Traverse City? We're hosting another trade-up with the Manistee Conservation District on Tuesday, June 2nd.
