Charity PerformanceNoto Peninsula Earthquake Reconstruction Support & Hawaii Theatre Preservation Support "Japan Folk Festival 2025 in Honolulu"
We are thrilled to announce the "Japan Folk Festival 2025 in Honolulu," a charity performance supporting the reconstruction of the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture and the preservation of Hawaii Theatre.
Although the performance scheduled for February this year was unfortunately canceled due to the earthquake off the coast of the Noto Peninsula on January 1st, we are excited to reschedule it for February 14, 2025.
The "Japan Folk Festival" is a unique cultural exchange event featuring stage performances, exhibitions, and hands-on workshops that showcase the authentic charm of Japanese culture.
In honor and gratitude to the immigrants who crossed the vast Pacific Ocean from Japan to Hawaii more than 150 years ago, we are bringing together artists from all over Japan who have preserved and nurtured Japanese performing arts and culture in their respective fields. The event will be held at the Hawaii Theatre, often referred to as Honolulu's Carnegie Hall, and will feature dance, music, taiko drumming, tea ceremonies, wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets), traditional crafts, and more.
We sincerely look forward to your attendance and support in celebrating and preserving the rich cultural heritage of Japan and Hawaii!
