We will be hosting county conservationists from Monroe and Vernon Counties in Sparta. Bob Micheel is the Director of the Monroe County Land Conservation Department (LCD) and has been a speaker at CRTU events in the past. Monroe County has been a leader in stream work and monitoring.

Dave Hettenbach is the Vernon County Conservationist in their Land & Water Conservation program. Dave is newer to the position but has been a great partner. In particular, we have been able to work with the WDNR to help reduce water temperatures in the old Jersey Valley Lake and the West Fork has run colder (and warmer in the winter...).

They will talk about programs and initiatives in their counties as well as answering your questions about stream projects, stream access provided by their counties, and I am sure dam issues will come up too.
This is a chance to see and hear about boots-on-the-ground conservation efforts that affects our streams.
