Derek Brown is a 44 year old local musician from Sparta. Derek comes from a musically talented family and has been performing for 20 plus years. He was diagnosed in September with Aggressive lymphoma (a blood cancer) and is currently undergoing chemotherapy, which has caused him to take a leave of absence from work.
He has donated his time to the community and played music for the Sparta Area Cancer Society, Saving 2nd Base, the local farmers market, as well as many other benefits in the past.
