The Downsview Players presents a special 'relaxed' matinee performance of their pantomime exclusively for adults and children with learning disabilities and/or sensory needs together with their families and carers.There will be no loud bangs or pyrotechnics during the relaxed performance, and music will be played at a lower volume. The auditorium will retain low-level lighting throughout the performance, and there will be a separate 'quiet room' where audience members can take a break if they wish. Wheelchair space and a hearing loop are provided for all our performances.
So, what's the story?
Our hero Jack and his family have fallen on hard times. The village of Merrydale is being terrorised by Blunderbore the Giant, along with his nasty henchman Fleshcreep. Even the King and Queen are forced to act as his rent collectors. When Jack’s mother, Dame Trott, finally decides to sell their beloved cow Daisy, Jack is tricked into selling Daisy to Fleshcreep for nothing more than a bag of mouldy old beans - and Fleshcreep even kidnaps Jack’s girlfriend Jill. Can Jack find a way to save Daisy, Jill, and the people of Merrydale from the evil giant before he turns them all into giant snacks?
