Ivo Neame Ivo Neame is an internationally renowned pianist, composer, and bandleader who has established himself as one of the most innovative and dynamic figures in the contemporary jazz scene. He has worked with ensembles as diverse as the Frankfurt Radio Big Band and the London Sinfonietta. He is best known for his creative contributions to the award-winning bands Phronesis and the Marius Neset Quintet; as a sideman he has collaborated with
numerous other artists such as Hermeto Pascoal, Kenny Wheeler and Marc Guiliana.
Tonight he is with the James Chadwick Trio which features Drummer Mark Whitlam ‘the ever empathetic’
who many regard as one of the best around and with him is Ashley John Long a musician and bassist who has become royalty in the musical world in Wales and is also in high demand over the bridge.
James Chadwick who is described by Nigel Price in Jazz views as The Welsh Wizard and The Jazz Mann wrote “It’s probably fair to say that Chadwick’s intelligent, refreshingly cliché free arrangements take even the most familiar of tunes in directions that you don’t really expect them to go in”
