About this Event
One thing that residents in the City of St. Louis can agree on is that the condition of our streets must improve. While potholes and other streets-related concerns may seem like small issues, they really are a symptom of the larger problems that our City is facing as it relates to how it funds and maintains its roads. It is especially important in communities that have been historically disinvested, as a lack of quality infrastructure is linked to various disheartening statistics, including those impacting overall health and wellbeing.
While the conditions of our streets have been a decades long issue in the City of St. Louis, it has been brought to the forefront with recent opportunities addressing them being in the news: ARPA funded streets improvement projects; discussions regarding the potential for Rams settlement dollars to address streets; and voters' approval of creating a Department of Transportation for the City of St. Louis.
These efforts are encouraging, however, where do residents' voices fit in all of this? Also, how can we ensure sustainibility in addressing our streets? Join Transform 314 at its monthly Community Meetups as we work with other residents, decision-makers, and other stakeholders to develop and champion sustainable solutions to ensure quality streets in all of the City of St. Louis. Don't miss out on this opportunity to connect with fellow residents and others that want to improve our City!
Food is provided at this free event. We just ask that you register beforehand so we can have an accurate count of who to expect so everyone can eat.
