Join us in celebrating National Women’s History Month with local author, D.A. Jennings. Through the stories of others and her personal journey, she’ll explore the lasting impact women have made in writing and publishing. It’s a feel-good, inspiring look at women who responded, and are yet to respond, to the Lure of the Blank Page.Jennings has been a keynote speaker and guest presenter for the State of Maryland Literacy Association and the local Harford County chapter. She received grants for her work from the Maryland State Arts Council and has earned international recognition for her books.
In 2015 she began teaching Creative Writing at Harford Community College, and since 2019 she has read her books to thousands of public and private elementary school children. BrightView Senior Living has employed her since 2017 to lead a weekly Adventures in Literature group at their facility. She also partners with local community organizations and businesses to provide books to students enrolled in Title I Schools. Jennings also conducts private group readings and classes. Her next book, Kip and the Land Pirates – a children's illustrated book- is set for release this summer. So, matey, hold on to your pirate's bandana because it's a fun tale of adventure that can impact our very own Chesapeake Bay!
