Dr. Kerry Sachetta will discuss the history of unwanted children from Medieval practices through today, and how the Italian Orphan Program 1950-1970 addressed the issue of orphaned and unwanted children after WWII. Maria Laurino’s book, The Price Of Children: Stolen Lives In a Land Without Choice, will be discussed. Dr. Sachetta will also highlight his fascinating story of an Italian-American adoptee who came through the post WWII Italian orphan program and found his Italian roots.
