Join us at the next IT DIY Budapest Meetup in July, where we'll share three exciting solutions with you. All levels of expertise are welcome. Whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned practitioner in the world of home automation, feel free to join us.=================
Talk 1: Affordable "smart" home setup that even my Mom can handle (Miklós Bárd)
When moving to a new home I decided to make the necessary preparations for a future smart home implementation. 3 years have passed since then. A journey with a lot of learning, success, but not without issues and challenges and most definitely still in progress.
Talk 2: Bringing Cloud to Home with Azure Arc (Gábor Szabó)
Have you ever felt envious of a fancy cloud service and wished you could have it locally?
This session introduces how we can connect our servers/PCs to the Azure ecosystem with Azure Arc, and how we can run cloud services locally at home. Two use cases will be presented, showcasing how these services can enhance our lives or simply provide some fun. They utilize state-of-the-art technology and, of course, are extremely overengineered :D
A live demo will be set up and can be viewed during the breaks.
Talk 3: Presenting a bunch of images dynamically (Gergely Sipos)
Have you ever needed to present multiple images simultaneously while retaining the ability to change the displayed images at will? I have. Is this process cumbersome? Yes, which is why I created a tool to address this issue.

📣 Meet the speakers
Gábor Szabó (Multi-Cloud Consultant, Clidee)
Gábor is a tech enthusiast with 20 years of IT experience, specializing in Public Clouds (mainly Azure) and Kubernetes technologies. He is committed to staying updated with state-of-the-art solutions. Gábor primarily works as a Solutions Architect on innovative projects, leveraging new capabilities to boost clients’ productivity.
Miklós Bárd (Senior Project Manager, Aliz)
Miklós is a problem solver at heart and likes tinkering with new gadgets when time permits. He is currently a Project Manager at Aliz, but his experience in software development, networking and troubleshooting proved to be a little bit more useful in this DIY project than his management skills.
Gergely Sipos (Frontend Architect, Aliz)
Sipi has been working at Aliz since 2012. Back then, everyone was doing both backend and frontend work. He liked seeing the visible result of his work, so he shifted toward frontend development. He likes working on projects where there is an exceptionally good relationship with the client, when they trust him and they work well with each other. In his free time, he takes salsa classes and plays some fun video games.
