The Island Jubilee Old Time Radio Music Show is thrilled to present its Christmas Special on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Florence Simmons Performance Hall in Charlottetown. Celebrate the season with an unforgettable showcase starring beloved Island artists Shane Pendergast, Meaghan Blanchard with her husband Thomas Webb, and dynamic step dance performer Alexis MacLaren, backed by the ever talented Jubilee All Stars. It’s a joyful afternoon filled with unforgettable music, festive fun, and the best of Prince Edward Island talent—all wrapped up in the warm holiday spirit that makes the Island Jubilee shine.
Shane Pendergast returns this season with a fresh collection of original songs alongside a few timeless favourites from his musical heroes, including Gordon Lightfoot. Meaghan Blanchard will bring her signature warmth to a selection of Dolly Parton and Gene MacLellan classics for the season, joined by her husband Thomas Webb for special duet performances audiences are sure to love. The show will also welcome Alexis MacLaren for her debut appearance, showcasing her step dancing talents with Courtney Hogan-Chandler and Johnny Ross driving the rhythm.
For this special Christmas edition, the Island Jubilee is expanding its popular Maritime charter day tours to PEI with new weekend getaway packages for visitors from the Magdalen Islands, along with another weekend adventure tour with a Saint John New Brunswick departure including stops in Sussex, Moncton, and Amherst before arriving for holiday celebrations in Downtown Charlottetown. Its Sunday day tours to PEI have seen a remarkable 50% growth in ridership over last season, reflecting the growing excitement surrounding the Island Jubilee experience.
Shane Pendergast is a folksinger from Tracadie Cross, Prince Edward Island. Hailing from a long lineage of storytellers and musicians in Prince Edward Island, Shane is keeping the Maritime folk tradition alive with his honest and insightful compositions. From acclaimed folk festivals across the world to the small halls of PEI, he has cemented himself as one of Atlantic Canada’s finest folk troubadours. His 2021 album ‘Second Wind” won Contemporary Roots Album of the Year at the Music PEI Awards. Shane released his fourth album "Winter Grace" in January of 2025.
Meaghan Blanchard is truly an artist with a vision of how to use her wonderful voice and pair it up with songs that truly move you as a listener. An accomplished international touring performer, Meaghan is a two-time ECMA-winning songwriter and the recipient of numerous Music PEI awards. Deeply rooted in Prince Edward Island’s music community and well-established across Canada, she has spent the past 20 years sharing her music at home and abroad. Her career highlights include tours throughout Scotland, England, and Canada, a guest appearance at the UK House of Commons, and performances at prestigious events such as the Cambridge Folk Festival. Meaghan was also featured in “The Songs of Dolly Parton” at Scotland’s Southern Fried Festival, sharing the stage with artists including Yola, The McCrary Sisters, Amythyst Kiah, and Della Mae. Her songs have also found audiences through film and television projects across the country.
Alexis MacLaren has been dancing for 14 years under the Direction of Dance at Somerset Dance Studio. A decorated performer, she has earned multiple Maritime championship titles and accolades at the Canadian Model and Talent Competition in Toronto. Her impressive stage experience includes long-running performances in Atlantic Blue with Tara MacLean, Frozen Jr., Ireland Meets Scotland, and Back Home Tonight in Stanley Bridge. Having shared the stage with many talented musical friends, Alexis is thrilled to bring her dynamic “Fiery Feet” to the Island Jubilee Christmas Special.
Step back in time with the Island Jubilee Old Time Radio Music Show—an unforgettable celebration of classic country music that captures the magic of the golden age of radio. Co-hosted by award-winning artist Janet McGarry and her husband Serge Bernard, this lively program showcases the incredible talents of the Jubilee All-Stars: Thomas Webb on steel guitar, Bobby McIsaac on acoustic and electric guitar, Johnny Ross on piano, Jason Burbine on bass, and Courtney Hogan-Chandler on fiddle.
Together, they transport audiences to the roots of country music, paying tribute to legendary radio programs like the Louisiana Hayride, Jamboree USA from WWVA Wheeling, and Nashville’s world-famous Grand Ole Opry.
