About this Event
Join us for an immersive afternoon exploring Islamic art as a living spiritual practice, where creativity becomes a means of reflection, healing, and connection.
This special event brings together artists, practitioners, and community leaders to explore the intersection of Islam, art, and mental health, considering how creative practices rooted in Islamic tradition can nurture inner stillness, resilience, and meaning in contemporary life.
The afternoon will feature a panel discussion with:
- Shazia Rashida Osman – Creative Producer, The Illuminate Project
- Maaida Noor – Award-winning Artist and Calligrapher
- Safura Houghton – Director, The Lantern Initiative
Following the discussion, attendees will be invited to take part in an exclusive calligraphy masterclass led by Maaida Noor, offering a rare opportunity to engage with calligraphy not just as an artform, but as a contemplative, embodied spiritual practice.
This event is ideal for artists, creatives, students, practitioners, and anyone interested in faith, wellbeing, and the transformative power of art. No prior experience is required.
