About this Event
ISing Choir and the Big Horn Brass Quintet, under the direction of Stephen Galván, will present “Sanctuary,” a program intentionally curated to create a space of tranquility in a world of unrest. The choir will collaborate with the Big Horn Brass Quintet and organist Dan Miller to perform works by Sir Karl Jenkins, a distinguished Welsh composer and multi-instrumentalist known for his profound spiritual expression and integration of classical, jazz, and world music elements. Recognized internationally and frequently performed, Jenkins’s compositions have had a lasting impact on audiences worldwide. The concert will feature his “Adiemus: Songs of Sanctuary,” notable for its use of an “invented language” that treats the voice as an instrumental element, thereby crafting a distinctive auditory experience. Visual projections of the Tualatin River will accompany the performance.
