A BROKEN ONTARIO: RESPONDING, ACTING, AND PUSHING BACK
Guest Speakers: Jeffrey Schlemmer, Joe Mihevc, and more!
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
—Margaret Mead
Join us for a vital conversation about the growing crisis facing marginalized communities in Ontario in the aftermath of COVID-19. The pandemic has exposed and worsened the challenges of homelessness, precarious housing, and inadequate social assistance. Despite the growing need, the provincial government has done little more than offer minimal increases in support, leaving hundreds of thousands of Ontarians without stable housing or hope for the future.
The choice before us is clear: either accept this harsh reality or push back and demand change. In a province as prosperous as Ontario, and in a country as wealthy as Canada, we can—and must—do better for our neighbors in need.
At this event, we will gather to explore how we can respond, act, and insist on meaningful solutions to these pressing issues. Featuring thought-provoking discussions and insights from community leaders, activists, and policymakers, this event will provide a space for reflection and action.
Whether you attend in person or tune in to the livestream, your participation will help drive the movement to heal, mend, and transform a broken system.
