‘I Said It With My Chest’ is a youth poetry and music night intended to allow youth to express themselves and their experiences through music and with their poetry. The main objective for “I said it with my chest” is to provide a safe environment for teens, to promote wellness,cultural pride and resilience by showcasing their works of art while simultaneously expressing their emotions
The evening will have up to 8 performers from the ages 15 to 20 from the community to give performances through poetry and music such as: free verse, soul , spoken word, jazz, neo-soul sonnets, R&b and Hip hop. The project is designed to give space for teens to discuss their experiences.
A curated night of poetry, music, and open mic created by Naomi and Tomiwa for voices that deserve to be heard.
