The ISA Calgary Section Automation Project Management Special Interest Group (APMSIG) is a Calgary-based local initiative designed to unite automation professionals across the industry to collaborate, share knowledge, and elevate the discipline of Automation Project Management (APM). APM is critical in industrial migrations, modernizations and new projects. Despite its importance, automation professionals often lack formal project management training, while traditional project managers may overlook the value of engaging automation specialists in the early stages.
Our APMSIG aims to create a platform for cross-functional collaboration, practical insights, and professional development, focusing entirely on execution strategies, challenges, and lessons learned, free from product promotions.
We meet in person once a month, on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 4:15pm, with the exception of June, July, August and December.
Important Location Details for APMSIG Meeting: The meeting will be in the conference centre (level 4) of Gulf Canada Square and is hosted by ConocoPhillips. Access to the 4th floor will be via the elevator bank shown toward the west end of the building on the ground floor (red box around it). From the CPA Lot 25 +15 walkway into Gulf Canada Square go down the stairs to the main floor level and turn left. Take the elevator to the 4th floor. Someone will be stationed at the conference centre doors located at the west end of the building prior to the start of the meeting.
