About this Event
Reading well by third grade is one of the strongest predictors of a child’s future success—in school, in the workplace, and in life. When children fall behind in reading early on, it becomes much harder for them to catch up. Pima County's Percent of Arizona 3rd grade students who scored Proficient or Highly Proficient on the Arizona Academic Standards Assessment (AASA) stands at 37.4%. Join us for a discussion on early childhood education and 3rd grade reading to learn how we can make a difference in helping our kids and community succeed.
This event is free and open to the public. If you are able, we welcome a to help support AZPM community events. We also encourage attendees to bring a new or gently used K–3rd grade book and/or a warm sweater in support of the TUSD Family Resource Centers.
