About this Event
Join AIA Southern Arizona Committee on the Environment (COTE) on November 13 at Originate in Tucson for a presentation with Alex Sexsmith, AIA, Chair of the AIA Southern Arizona COTE committee.
The Farm-to-Frame Initiative examines the interconnected goals of Regenerative Agriculture and Regenerative Architecture, with a focus on health, carbon sequestration, and ecosystem restoration. We’ll review carbon sequestration strategies through the use of rapidly renewable materials and efforts to strengthen local supply chains. The session will also discuss the impact of non-toxic materials on indoor air quality and community health, highlighting the vital link between material choices and human well-being. Attendees will also learn about the current challenges of adopting alternative building materials, including code limitations, workforce readiness, and market accessibility—offering insights on how design and policy can work together to advance regenerative practices across disciplines.
Attendees will receive 1 HSW LU from AIA.
