Is Art Action? Session One
A 3-Part Political Education Series on Resistance and Revolutionary Art with Palestinian Youth Movement and Artists Against Apartheid
Artists Against Apartheid and the Palestinian Youth Movement invite artists, cultural workers, and anyone moved by creative resistance to join us for a three-part political education series exploring the role of revolutionary art in anti-imperialist struggle.
Across three sessions, we’ll come together to study, reflect, and create. Through collective learning, discussion, and hands-on practice, we’ll explore how artists and movements around the world have used art as a tool for resistance, from Palestine to Oakland and beyond. We’ll look at how art helps us stand together, survive, fight back, and imagine new worlds.
Session 1 is a peer-led class and discussion. We’ll introduce key ideas and histories of revolutionary art, educating ourselves in both theory and lived experience. RSVP is not required for Session 1.
