What is most serious risk to humanity posed by the development of AI? How can we make sure AI works ethically, for the benefit of humanity?
About this Event

If you use AI in your professional life, or have concerns about how to implement AI in a responsible way, this panel event will be highly relevant to the challenges you may already be encountering.

The panel will discuss two pressing questions:

  • What is the most serious risk to humanity posed by the development of AI?
  • What should we do to make sure AI works ethically, for the benefit of humanity?

The event will be chaired by the Royal Institute of Philosophy's Academic Director, Edward Harcourt, who is also Director of the Oxford Institute for Ethics in AI.

Panellists will include:

  • Federica Lucivero (BRAID Fellow at the Ada Lovelace Institute and Associate Professor in Ethics of Technology at the Ethox Centre, University of Oxford)
  • Vidushi Marda (Head of Ecosystem Building at the AI Collaborative)
  • Jens Munch (technology and AI strategist, entrepreneur and investor)
  • Priyanka Suresh (Data Scientist in AI Safety at Google DeepMind)
  • Shannon Vallor (Baillie Gifford Chair in the Ethics of Data and Artificial Intelligence at the Edinburgh Futures Institute)
