About this Event
Join us for a free meet and greet to learn about Ireland's Culinary Heartland, a small group culinary tour of County Cork, Ireland co-hosted by Chef Joseph VanWagner of Echelon Kitchen and Bar and Max Sussman and Kate McCabe of Bog & Thunder this August.
A few spots are still open. On April 6th, accompany Chef Joe, Kate, and Max at Hunã for an evening of food and drinks to hear about the full itinerary, ask your questions, and decide if it's the right fit for you. Attendance is free; light food and beverages will be served.
What draws Joe to County Cork is that the people there work the way the team works at Echelon. They cook with fire, let the seasons guide the plate, and have deep relationships with the people who produce their ingredients. Same philosophy, completely different landscape. Kate and Max have spent years building those relationships on the ground, and together they've put together something truly special.
A taste of the trip: Ireland's Culinary Heartland August 13–21, 2026
Meeting fishermen at dawn. Smoking wild fish on the beach with trad music and storytelling. Foraging herbs and seaweed, then cooking over open fire. Visiting a cheesemaker who helped revive Irish farmhouse cheese in the 1970s. Bioluminescent kayaking by moonlight. A Michelin-starred dinner. Guest chefs joining on the island for an outdoor meal. And the kind of unhurried meals that remind you why good food and good company is one of the best things in life.
RSVP to reserve your spot at the meet and greet.
