The Iowa City Public Library is hosting a blood drive with the DeGowin Blood Center. The blood drive will be held in the first-floor meeting rooms (123 Linn St., IC.)Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins will be accommodated when possible.

When donating, remember to:
• Provide a photo ID
• Drink plenty of fluids and have a good meal before you donate
• Be free of cold or flu symptoms for five days
• Bring a list of the medications you take
• Bring a list of the places and dates you have traveled outside the U.S. within the last three years
Whole blood donations take about 45 to 60 minutes.
The UI DeGowin Blood Center is a hospital-based blood center. All blood collected is used locally to help patients at University of Iowa Health Care and UI Stead Family Children's Hospital.
