About this Event
This is a ticketed event. General admission is free, but attendees must register by Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025, to reserve their seat. This lecture is made possible through the generous support of Dr. Jean and Renée Robillard.
The 2025 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Distinguished Lecture will be delivered by Isabel Wilkerson, winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the National Humanities Medal and author of the critically acclaimed, New York Times bestsellers, "The Warmth of Other Suns" and "Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents."
Join your colleagues for Wilkerson’s thought-provoking lecture "Caste: How the hierarchy we have inherited restricts our humanity” from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, in Prem Sahai Auditorium (room 1110) in the Medical Education and Research Facility.
A reception with light refreshments along with an author signing will immediately follow the lecture from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Jean E. and Renée P. Robillard Atrium. Wilkerson’s New York Times best-selling books, "The Warmth of Other Suns" and "Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents," will both be available to purchase from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Jean E. and Renée P. Robillard Atrium.
Early registration is encouraged as tickets will be given out on a first come, first served basis. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and allow adequate time for travel to the event. Please note that no admittance will be allowed in the auditorium once the lecture has begun.
