From June 15-19, join us for a week-long Freedom School in Iowa City for up to 45 middle school students of color (including 2 evening dinners with extended families/households). The curriculum draws on centuries of “freedom schooling” that began in the era of enslavement— education by and for Black communities linked to liberation and the democratic project itself. Our goal is to provide a liberatory education model and equip participants and families with knowledge and tools to be change-makers in their communities.
