About this Event
Funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), the InvolveD study has explored and reviewed an approach to working collaboratively with people from ethnic minority communities to understand what supports them to live well with dementia in the places they reside.
Sandwell and Wolverhampton are localities vibrant with ethnic minority communities. This project involved speaking with South Asian, Black African and African Caribbean people in these two places, and bringing them together with service providers and commissioners to develop a model for improved dementia care and support.
Through community conversations, workshops and co‑design activities, people with dementia, family carers and community leaders shared what helps, what gets in the way, and what culturally meaningful support should look like.
Join us to hear the findings from the InvolveD study and help shape a place‑based model of support for people living with dementia from ethnic minority communities.
