Invitation to Industry: Help us Shape Australia’s Manufacturing Future

About AMMA

Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Australia (AMMA) is a proposed national initiative being developed by a consortium of Australian universities and partners to strengthen Australia’s capability in advanced materials and manufacturing, particularly in the mid-TRL space (TRL 3–7). This is the critical stage where promising research often struggles to progress into pilot-scale development, testing, qualification and real-world deployment.

Australia has world-class research capability, but many businesses still face challenges accessing the infrastructure, expertise and translational pathways needed to move innovations toward market. AMMA is being shaped as a more coordinated, nationally shared approach that could help connect existing strengths, improve access to pilot and qualification capability, and support stronger collaboration between research and industry.

AMMA will be at AMW in Brisbane on 13 May. Visit us at Hospitality Suite 4 to learn more about the concept and share your perspective as a manufacturer. We are still in the design phase and are keen to hear directly from industry about where the biggest translation bottlenecks lie, what practical support is most needed, and how a future national approach could reduce cost, risk and time to adoption.

If you are unable to visit us in person, you can still register your interest here to stay connected. By leaving your details, you will receive updates on AMMA, future consultation opportunities, and ways to contribute to the next stage of its development. Your input will help shape whether AMMA delivers real value for Australian manufacturing.

Tea, coffee and light catering will be provided.
