For centuries, the U.S. government criminalized traditional Native ceremonies, violating our sovereignty and constitutional right to religious freedom. Despite the passage of this law, Tribes continue to struggle for the right to practice our beliefs.
The events that happened on June 23, 2024, when relatives were praying at a Native American Village site that should be protected historically and were attacked. By coming together, we will demonstrate our solidarity and a reminder that the struggle for our religious freedom is far from over. We must remain vigilant and continue to support efforts that protect our sacred places and our right to practice our traditional beliefs.
