Investing in Multifamily Properties for Social Impact
Join us for a conversation with experienced investors and developers on how to attract capital to increase the stock of quality, affordable apartments. Speakers include:
- Mark Ethridge, Managing Principal and Co-Founder of Ascent Housing, which manages two for-profit social impact equity funds focused on preserving naturally-occurring affordable housing. Over the past six years, its Charlotte Housing Impact Fund has capitalized approximately $320 million towards the preservation of nearly 2,305 units.
- Daniel Smith, Managing Director at Ojala Holdings, a Dallas-based real investment firm focused on partnering with sophisticated private capital to develop multifamily residential properties. In recent years, Ojala has partnered with Fort Worth Housing Solutions and Partnership Home to deliver projects that serve low- to moderate-income renters as well as opportunities for households experiencing extreme housing instability or requiring permanent supportive housing.
- Alice Cruz, Project Manager with O-SDA Industries, a real estate development firm focused on mixed-income housing communities with a strong track record of receiving 9% Housing Tax Credit awards and engaging community members in the development process.
We hope you will also consider attending the Fort Worth Housing Summit the following day on April 29 featuring panels on housing & economic development, municipal bonds, and more discussion on housing investments with the team from Ascent and local funders.
