Invasive W**d Removal & Litter Cleanup
Come for a fun-filled morning of removing invasive weeds and cleaning up Little Forest Park in Northwest Washington, DC! Grab your gardening gloves and get ready to get your hands dirty.
This event is perfect for nature lovers and anyone who wants to positively impact our environment and local community. Students are welcome and can earn service hours for school requirements. We will provide all the necessary tools and equipment, just bring your enthusiasm and energy. It's a great opportunity to meet new people, enjoy the fresh air, and contribute to the well-being of our local environment. Help us transform Little Forest Park into a beautiful and thriving green space. Let's make a difference together!
Join the National Park Service and Rock Creek W**d Warrior Leaders for this invasive plant removal restoration event in Rock Creek Park. Invasive plants are a major threat to our fragile forests, and stopping their spread helps allow for a thriving native understory. Event location, directions, and information will be sent from the event leader 48 hours prior to the event.
All volunteers MUST also complete form to work in the park.
Location: Little Forest is located in NW DC. Bordering Military Road between 30th St and 28th St NW. Find us near the trailhead on 30th Street.
What to Wear: Please dress appropriately for the work and weather. We recommend wearing sturdy boots or sneakers and long layers, including pants and long sleeves - this ensures safety and reduces likelihood of exposure to nuisances like poison ivy.
What to bring: We recommend bringing water, and snacks if desired. Tools and supplies will be provided. Please bring your own gloves if you have them.

Weather/Cancellation Policy: All participants will be notified via email at least 12 hours before the event starts if an event is canceled due to inclement weather. If you do not hear from us you should assume the event will occur as scheduled.
Please do NOT attend this event if you are or have been experiencing symptoms of illness.
