[ENGLISH]

Comunidad Catrileo+Carrión, Caracol Collective & La Peña come together to bring Mapuche weaving kimün (knowledge) to the Bay Area with a FREE lecture and a series of three hands-on weaving workshops –with all materials included!

This workshop series centers witral—the ancestral Mapuche weaving practice from Chile and Argentina that carries language, memory, and lifeways across generations. More than textile-making, witral is a collective practice of weaving relationships—strengthening empathy, belonging, and community across diasporas.

Led by Mapuche weavers Antonio Catrileo and Manuel Carrión, this offering shares a two-spirit, decolonial approach to weaving that honors land, ancestors, and the diversity of gender identities. Witral becomes a space for healing, connection, and intergenerational knowledge sharing.

This series is supported by the cultural initiative Caracol Collective, led by Natalia Neira, which offers pathways to inner and ancestral wisdom through coaching & cultural revitalization.
