• a certificate of completion of an Ohio Division of Wildlife approved and required,
“Introduction to Wildlife Rehabilitation” training
Whether you are thinking about becoming a wildlife rehabilitator, caring for wild animals, or would like to learn
more about wildlife rehabilitation, this comprehensive training is a good starting point.
In 2025, 1065 mammals (15 species) and 263 birds (33 species) were admitted for wildlife rehabilitation care by
the Second Chance Wildlife volunteers.

Per ODNR regulations, NO rehab animals are allowed in the training room, but a private room for them will be
available.
*Second Chance Wildlife permit holders and subpermittees who previously attended training and are current members
may attend this training for free. You will receive a certificate of attendance so you may show continuing education for
your permit, but you will not receive another copy of our manual. Pre-registration as a guest is required.
