INTRODUCTION TO THE WHEEL OF CONSENT®
With Roza Oikonomou
Certified Facilitator in training | Trauma-Informed |
The Wheel of Consent® is a framework developed by Dr.Betty Martin to help people understand the dynamics of giving and receiving in all kinds of relationships. It is a tool for exploring consent, boundaries and desires in our everyday lives. It is now taught in schools, therapy trainings, and organizations around the world, offering a radical shift in how we relate—to ourselves, to others, and to power.
This introductory workshop is a chance to start exploring the dynamics of the Wheel of Consent® through gentle, guided, body-based practices. You'll have space to notice your own sensations, connect with what feels good, and start to build the skills for clear, confident communication.
What you can expect:
-An embodied Introduction to the Wheel of Consent. Through a series of practices and some theory.
-Practice on a small group (max 14pp)
-An inclusive, safe(r) space. Spaceholding for different dynamics and for all emotions.
-Choosing is more important than doing. We will practice this fundamental principle of the Wheel of Consent.
-Invitations to bring attention to the body and connect to our body’s sensations and body signals.
-Invitations to notice, trust, value what you want - and what you don’t want. And how to communicate that.
-Invitations to notice where you might be “going along” with things instead of choosing for yourself.
-We will focus on the sensation of touch. With an extra focus on choosing. Touch will happen ONLY if you want it.
-A fully clothed, non-sexual space. We will explore the potential of platonic touch.
-Practice communicating with integrity. Practice giving and receiving a no.
-Practice the different dynamics of GIVING and RECEIVING.
-Begin strengthening our consent muscle, and skills for consent that feels authentic, joyful, and empowering.
Who is it for:
-Anyone who wants to strengthen their consent muscle. To improve their capacity to set limits and express desires with integrity.
-Anyone who is curious about this practice, as a tool for self awareness.
-For individuals seeking deeper connections.
-For people who struggle with boundaries.
-For people who want to connect to more authentic desires.
-For professionals working with others.
-For couples and those in relationships.
-For those new to consent.
-For experienced practitioners.

About the facilitator:
My work lies at the intersection of bodywork, somatics, movement and consent. I have been exploring and studying body-mind approaches since 2012. Practices within the therapeutic, expressive, movement and somatic fields have been accompanying me from early on and have been my main axis in navigating and appreciating life. In the center of all is touch, as a non-invacive, listening practice, which I explore through my bodywork one-to-one sessions, and workshops.
The Wheel of Consent® came into my life first in 2022 when I took the training “Like a pro” in person with Betty Martin and Robyn Dalzen. I have been studying with the School of Consent ever since, practicing and learning close to pioneers in this field. Today as a Wheel of Consent® facilitator in training, I am offering workshops across Europe both in English and Greek. You can see more of my work here. https://www.instagram.com/roza.oikonomou/
