An in-depth introduction to the UK’s new Subsidy Control regime.
About this Event

The new UK subsidy control regime will commence on 4 January 2023. This will enable public authorities, including devolved administrations and local authorities, to deliver subsidies that are tailored to local needs and to drive economic growth.

If you’re a public authority that designs or delivers any subsidies to businesses, you need to be aware of your responsibilities under the new regime. The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is holding a series of events to explain the main features and principles of the new subsidy control regime.

This session will also cover:

  • How to know if the support you are providing is a subsidy and the procedures that you need to follow
  • When to upload subsidies onto the subsidy control database
  • Where to go for further advice and information
  • The role of BEIS and the new Subsidy Advice Unit in the Competition and Markets Authority

BEIS officials will also be available to answer any questions that you have on the new regime.

Further information on subsidy control is available:
