Introduction to the Stained-glass windows of Historical buildings in France
Presented by Dr. Anna Burnley, this seminar will teach French vocabulary while being offered in English.
Topics to be explored in this seminar include:
-Historical and cultural | societal implications of the use of stained-glass windows in religious edifices in France during their early period, and parallels to historical concepts of literacy
-Stained-glass window colors and symbolism in France’s grand cathedrals, with visual representations for students viewing.
-Influences found in France’s secular premises, to include selected familial and governmental buildings.
Cost : $85
Beginning : Monday, October 9, from 6:30-7:30 and continuing for 4 consecutive Mondays.
Location: We will meet at Alliance Francaise headquarters, where we have ample parking: 2545 Blairstone Pines Dr, Tallahassee, FL 32301 (A Zoom entry is possible upon request)
